Philadelphia Skyline | Composition & Lighting Study

While the quality of a model is important in a render, the lighting and composition of a scene can make all the difference in the world. Knowing that I had little experience in this field, I wanted to try and expand my horizons using the Center City of Philadelphia as the subject. This was an interesting experience, as I found myself focusing more on the atmosphere of the piece than any particular detail.

For the evening, I wanted to focus on the angle of the sun and the corresponding reflections/shadows.

A much darker version of the environment, I wanted to try using the ambient moonlight to illuminate the fog below.

I wasn't sure how much of Center City I wanted to show, so I imported a pretty large area from Google Maps.
